1995-1999

  • Managed the multi-million dollar budget for one of the agency's largest accounts: Hinckley & Schmitt/Sierra Springs/Colorado Crystal bottled water brands.

  • Led the team that developed the award-winning campaign featuring the cartoon character “Cathy” by Cathy Guisewite. Led all contract negotiations.

  • Work on the account won myriad awards, including Aqua Awards from the International Bottled Water Association. Awards included Best Overall Campaign for the Colorado Crystal brand and Best Radio Advertising for Hinckley & Schmitt brand.

Account Director, 1994-1995

  • Began at Coors Brewing Company (now MillerCoors) as a Corporate Communications Intern and was offered a full-time position upon college graduation.

  • Held progressively senior roles across marketing and communications functions, including Corporate Communications Representative, Assistant Manager of Corporate Communications, Assistant Marketing Communications Manager and Manager of Marketing Communications.

  • In these positions, I managed programs that both drove sales and won a number of national awards (see Awards section, below). 

  • My department was acquired by The Integer Group, and I was named one of 12 founding directors where I was responsible for the Coors and Coors Light brands. 

  • During my tenure in the public relations department, I worked on and led a number of project teams, including:

    • PR team to counter the unpopular name change from Coors Banquet to Original Coors

    • The “mouse in the can” incident, where a consumer alleged (falsely) that he found a mouse in a can of Coors. We successfully mitigated damages and publicized when the consumer was convicted of fraud. 

    • A number of crisis incidents, including lawsuits, drinking and driving issues and industrial injuries and accidents. 

    • Lead the successful Grand Opening of the first Coors brewing facility outside of Golden, Colorado, located in Elkton, Virginia.

    • Working on PR teams for expansion of Coors sales in Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Deleware and Indiana.
